* last week activities

- Monday to Thursday:

  The past week work on the laser continue, the oscillator could 
not lased.The oscillator + mode locker was realigned. Thursday lasing 
was achieved with BW of 7 Angtrom only; the small bandwidth was found 
to be due to the mode-locker installed too close to the mirror, the 
mode-locker was moved, and  Friday, lasing with the niominal bandwidth 
of 17 Ansgtr was recovered [Jianlian, Rodion and Adrian]
   Tuesday the laser team visited the AWA (Argonne) laser [Jianliang, 
Rodion, Jamie and Chirstian Boffo (from TD)], the did some measurement 
on the vibration. 

- Friday: 
  Part of the day was dedicated to HOM-based beam alignment in the 
cavity. Qualitatively, Tim could reproduce his early observation of 
HOM power sensitivity to beam orbit at the cavity entrance, [Tim]
  We also try to detect OTR signal using the new digital camera with 
the new optical set-up. The set-up was installed at X7, we could not 
see any signal, even with the optical iris on the camera open to its 
maximum value. [Philippe/Ray]


* discussion:
- Jinaliang is starting to write labview applications so we are able to 
run and acquire data from any laser room instrument, for such a purpose 
we will need a dedicated PC in the laser room: the plan is to install 
Kai's PC. 

- Brian Degraff send an e-mail about the necessity to think about 
warming up the 9-cell cavity; the cryosystem is routinely having problem 
during the cooldown (this is due to contamination of the system)
