Work on the laser was performed by Jianliang replaced the last UV lens of the telescope by a shorter focal length to be able to control the beam spot on the iris in the laser room - Tuesday, the camera optics at X8 was improved (zoomed by a factor 2) and a set of flat beam data were taken - Wednesday/Thursday: the optics to focuss the OTR from the plasma chamber to the streak camera was commissionned: first results are encouraging (can see the beam on the camera) but further work is needed (chesk if we have a focussing). Note the streak camera slit was open from 78 microns to 1000 microns. Thursday night the 9-cell klystron was unstable and could not deliver the proper power anymore, this resulted in the impossibility to take data - Friday: north cave was running, the 200 kW klystron was moved out and was diagnosed: some contact on the klystron soket are damaged, but the klystron filament looks OK ACTION ITEM updated: Mon Feb 21 10:45:52 CST 2005 H8/ calibration of upstream directional coupler and insulator (Markus need to speak to Tim and with Kai to schedule this STATUS?)
