[of not plasma experiment] * Last week activities - Monday and Tuesday, Jianliang and Rodion worked on the laser, trying to optimize the grating settings to minimize the bunch length to about 3.5 ps. This was not successful: the bunch length keeps being around 10 ps FWHM and fluctuate from bunch-to-bunch - Tuesday evenning we run the plasma experiment, beam + optics was setup and later in the evenning we could observe plasma-based focusing - Wednesday and Friday more data on plasma focusing were taken. The e- beam properties were measured: bunch length is about 10 ps rms (at 12 nC), and emittance after the thin Al foil is about 50 mm-mrd.
