NOTE: THERE WAS NO MEETING APRIL 30TH, BELOW IS A SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK 
      ACTIVITIES + PLAN FOR 05/03 WEEK.

* Next meeting: Friday May 7th 4pm in "the Motel"

* Plan for next week: 

- Monday:  2-pulses experiments hopefully finish 
           taking a good set of data. Rodion will 
           take a full set of data: gun compression, 
           cavity compression and measurement of 
           chicane R56. For some point Daniel will 
           take CTR-autocorrelation data to try to 
           investigate the "resolution" of the 
           autocorrelator [Rodion/Daniel]
- Tuesday: continue/finish what started Monday
           [Rodion/Daniel]
- Wednesday:Flat beam -- continue on 
           working on proper procedure for setting 
           up the round-to-flat beam adapter 
           [Yin-e/Philippe]
- Thrusday:Flat beam (if something need to 
           be finished-up). Otherwise round beam 
           configuration and get energy spread data
           [Yin-e/Philippe]
- Friday:  Plasma experiment [Matt]

* Achievements of last week:

- Monday:
        -  laser work [Rodion/Jamie]
        -  Round beam studies, no data taken due to unstable 
           laser (charge fluctuation) [Kai]
           
- Tuesday: 
        -  flat beam studies: took data on angular momentum 
           versus B-field on the cathode, for three sets of 
           spot sizes. Oscillator required many tweaking along 
           the day to be kept stable. Frequency-doubling crystals 
           also had to be tuned (angle/position) several time 
           to keep laser transverse uniformity tolerable on 
           virtual photocathode [Yin-e/Philippe]
           
- Wednesday: 
        -  initially plamned on flat beam studies, but ended 
           up spending all the day fighting with the laser 
           (strong transverse non-uniformity) and a trigger 
           problem of the camera after X3 camera was changed 
           [Yin-e/Philippe/Nick]. Nick wrote a procedure in 
           the logbook to troubleshoot the camera trigger 
           problem
           
- Thursday: (no runs)
        -  North cave running
        -  Vacuum work on X11 (X11H appeared to be bent 
           probably due to collision with X11V -- problem 
           was fixed) [Wade et al.]
        -  Vacuum work on plasma experiment [Wade et al.]
        -  oscillator lamps were changed

- Friday: (no runs)
        - Vacuum work on plasma experiment [Wade et al.]
        - Work on south/north cave interlock [Chuck Worel]

* Tasks concerning hardware 

H2/ Corrector HTBX06, Jamie [Aug. 2003]
    Steerer from UCLA was installed TUESDAY FEB 3 but was again
    found to be not working last Tuesday [checked/fixed 04/30 Jamie]
H8/ calibration of upstream directional coupler and 
    insulator (Markus need to speak to Tim and with Kai to  
    schedule this STATUS?)
H11/ Some of the toroid need cabling to have signal available 
     out of the cave in the rack area
     (JAMIE, STATUS?)
H13/ Pulse stacker, what do we do? (Rodion)
H14/ air coil steerers, Kai will gather all the paper he has 
     and we will decide whether we can give this project to one of 
     the NIU engineering student
     (Kai, STATUS: nobody at NIU picked up this project...)
H21/ the laser uniformity problem can this be due to the new (since 
     late summer) tight focusing in the doubling crystal area to 
     improve conversion efficiency? On going work [Rodion]
